Final Quiz Solution

Question 1

Solution: Option B - Trivela cross Our crossing player Trossard has the trivela playstyle which allows us to use the trivela cross on his preferred right foot. And with the trivela cross we’ll get an accurate and fast whipped cross in with lots of curve. A normal cross could likely get intercepted by the opponent’s CB or GK rushing out and the distance is too far for a whipped / ground cross.

Question 2

Solution: Option C - Lobbed cross Haaland has space to run into at the back post and a lobbed cross here allows us to use his aerial+ playstyle against the isolated CB. When crossing from this angle it will be too far for the GK to rush out and claim it as well, so we’ll only need to worry about aiming the header.

Question 3

Solution: Option A - Normal cross Lewandowski has an open space infront of him which he’s running into and a normal cross here will go right passed the opponent’s CB and leave our ST with a free shot at goal.

Question 4

Solution: Option A - Driven / low cross After breaking through the defensive line with Mbappe, we wait for Sorloth to get back onside now a driven / low cross will whip the ball low and hard into the box so neither the GK nor the CB has a chance at intercepting it. A normal cross could also work in this situation but looking at the angle Mbappe is crossing from there’s still a chance that the GK will claim it.

Question 5

Solution: Option A - Knockdown assist Whilst there’s still a good chance we could take a direct header at goal here, with the open passing option to R9 available, knocking it down to him before shooting results in a guaranteed go

Question 6

Solution: Option A - Take a touch then shoot We’ve whipped in an early cross and Mbappe has plenty of space around him to take a touch and settle the ball, then we can decide whether to shoot or dribble around the GK or look for an extra pass depending on the opponent’s GK movement. The opponent rushes out his GK so we can just take a volley at the near post before he closes down fully.

Question 7

Solution: Option A - Direct shot We’ve done the hard work to get Sorloth into position for a header, he has both Aerial+ and Power Header playstyles, he’s close enough to the goal and there are no other players in position for a knockdown, so we take the direct header at goal.

Question 8

Solution: Option A+C Trivela and Whipped pass improve the accuracy and speed of crosses, while Incisive pass is helpful for through balls.

Question 9

Solution: Option A+B+D Bruiser helps with winning physical duels to win the ball in the defense. All the other PlayStyles (Power Header, Aerial and Acrobatic) increase the chance of converting a cross.
