Key takeaways for this lesson:

  • You can use L2/LT in running duels to use the body of your player to shove the opponent away or to shield the ball.
  • This technique has to be used with caution, as it will slow you down a bit. So you should only use it, when you think that you can actually get an advantage out of it.
  • This is the case, when you have a position in front of the opponent in the running duel. Shielding is only useful, when you're ahead and have a better position than your opponent. You can't use it, if you're behind and you need to catch up. Thus, shielding is like a "win more" technique, so it can be used to increase your advantage.
  • The timing should be in between ball contacts as this allows your player to focus on using his body and not handling the ball at the same time.
  • Use shielding only with quick taps of the button, because otherwise you will slow down too much.
