Key takeaways for this lesson:

  • Executing the timed finishing: Load up your shut and wait for the moment in which your player is about to hit the ball. Then, hit the shooting button a second time.
  • Benefit; if you can execute timed finishing correctly, your shot gets empowered with greater accuracy. Risk; if you fail, even a normal shot can go wrong and you can give up on the opportunity.
  • Different shooting types can affect the timing. With different shooting types, the animation changes.
  • Playstyle+ for each shooting type could accelerate the animation, which again changes the timing for the timed finish.
  • Against the defensive pressure and unwanted animations you can use the following method; simply push the ball a couple of steps away from your player and then initiate the timed finishing.
  • In case you are facing a bad connection try to adjust yourself. You might have to press the shooting button (2nd time) earlier if there is a delay.
  • First practice the timed finishing against the AI and learn the mechanic and then go against the online opponents. Online experience might be slightly different from what you get in the offline mode. Keep that in mind.
  • Turn off the Timed Finishing Bar! Even if that's a good idea for starters, it will hold you back and stop your progress. If you want to grow a feeling for it, turn it off in the trainer menu.
  • And finally, don't give up. It takes a lot of time to master this mechanic, so give yourself a lot of time to do it.
